General information.
Time and location: the course will meet from July 11th to July 29th, Mondays thru Fidays, in Physics P-116 from 9:45am to 12:45pm (click here for a map).
Textbook: Precalculus Essentials, 3rd edition, by Blitzer.

Grading policy.

Quizzes	10%	there will be a 10-15 minutes quiz every class.
Homework	25%	see table below for the homework schedule, and check the syllabus for the homework grading policy.
Midterm	25%	Wednesday, July 20th, at 11:15am, covering sections 1.1 to 3.5 (notice that sections which are not covered in HW will not be on the test).
Final	30%	Friday, July 29th, 9:45am. Cumulative but with emphasis on sections 4.1 to 5.5 (notice that sections which are not covered in HW will not be on the test).
Class participation	10%	by class participation we mean willingness to engage in meaninful class discussions and interactions with both the instructor and other students.

Office hours.
My office hours are on Mondays from 3pm to 5pm at the MLC and on Thursdays from 4pm to 6pm at my office (2-114, second floor of the Math Building; don't you know where the Math Bld is? Click here for a map). Recall, however, that the MLC is a place for helping students; hence, you may come to the MLC any time you want and certainly you will find a tutor there to help you.

Here you can find a practice midterm. Be aware that I may request you to hand in this practice midterm as an extra credit assignment on the day of the midterm. Due to the midterm, I will hold my office hours on Tuesday, 19th, instead of Thursday 21th.
